Child & teen nutrition, without the dinner-table battles

Practical support for parents of picky eaters, children who are underweight or overweight, and busy teenagers.

Common worries we help with

  • Picky eating: children who only want a few foods, or refuse vegetables.
  • Low weight or poor appetite: healthy ways to add energy and nutrients.
  • Overweight children and teens: gentle, family-based changes, never strict dieting or blame.
  • Junk food and fizzy drinks: realistic limits that children can accept.
  • School lunches and exam time: lunchbox ideas and brain-friendly snacks.
  • Teen sports and growth: enough energy, protein, calcium and iron for growing bodies.

Our approach: the whole family

Children copy what they see. Instead of a separate "diet" for one child, we suggest small changes the whole family can make: fewer sugary drinks at home, more fruit within reach, regular family meals and less screen time while eating.

Lunchbox ideas

  • Chicken or egg roll in a whole wheat chapati, with cucumber sticks.
  • Homemade vegetable sandwich with a fruit.
  • Chana chaat with a small box of yoghurt.
  • Homemade aloo-anda paratha (made with less oil) with an apple.

Growth concerns? If your child is not growing well, is losing weight, or you are worried about their health, please also see your paediatrician. We work alongside your child's doctor.

Parents' questions

Should my overweight child go on a diet?

Strict diets are not recommended for children. The focus is on healthy family habits, active play and better food choices so that children grow into a healthier weight over time.

Does my child need to come to the consultation?

For younger children, a parent can attend first. For older children and teenagers, it helps if they join so they feel involved in the plan.
